CajsaStina Åkerström - singer
CajsaStina Åkerström, daughter of famous troubadour Fred Åkerström, was born in Stockholm and named after Fredman’s first epistle (C. M. Bellman). At an early age she performed together with her father Fred in different contexts. During her school years she played the flute, piano and studied song. After her father’s premature death, CajsaStina put the music aside and trained as an archaeologist. At her free time she learned to play the guitar and started to write her own songs. 1991 she performed live for the first time on the radio with her own material and then successively turned completely to music. 1994 the debut album "CajsaStina" was both a musical and commercial breakthrough with 130,000 albums sold. That same year she met her audience through the yearly summer tour Rocktåget together with Magnus Uggla, Just D and Orup. During the following years CajsaStina had more album releases and also wrote songs for other artists. 2004 CajsaStina started her own record company Calimba Records AB. Her latest album was released 2009, "Sånger om dej och mej” (Songs about you and me), with Jack Vreeswijk as a guest artist in some of the songs. 2010 CajsaStina made her debut as an author - in September her book "Du och jag, farsan" (You and me, dad) will be published.
