Marika Lagercrantz from Stockholm works as an actress, scriptwriter, director, drama teacher and lecturer. During 2010 she has performed in Melanie Mederlind’s direction of Dea Loher’s ”Oskuld” (Innocence) on tour with Riksteatern. On cinema her latest appearance was as Cecilia Vanger in ”Män som hatar kvinnor” (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) based on Stieg Larsson’s best-selling novel with the same name. Already as a six-year old she started at Vår Teater in Stockholm. She made her film debut in the TV serial "Modiga mindre män" by Leif Krantz. Marika has played many unforgettable parts and was awarded the Chaplin prize 1993. In connection with the distribution of prizes, comparisons were made with Ingrid Bergman through her artless and natural addressing of the camera. Marika has through the years performed in some 40 films and as many TV productions and on stage she has successfully played many of modern drama’s great female parts. In the latest ten years, Marika has also been a popular and frequent lecturer in both the private and the public sector. Among other things she talks about the creative process where the power of joy is important but also about her exciting life within the film and theatre world.
