Royal Naval Band Of Sweden
The Royal Navy Band of Sweden was founded in the 1680s and has performed continuously since then. Today its 30 full-time musicians comprise Sweden’s only full-time professional military band.
The Royal Swedish Navy Band is part of the Armed Forces, and plays its part both at home and overseas, including overseas missions to areas such as Bosnia-Hercegovina, Kosovo, and Afghanistan, performing ceremonial music and music to entertain the troops and boost morale. The Royal Swedish Navy Band gives more than 100 annual performances in connection with official state visits, royal receptions, the ceremonial guard, unit performances, military tattoos, and concerts for the general public.
In addition to its military duties, the Royal Swedish Navy Band performs an extensive number of concerts. These feature a broad repertoire of varied genres of wind music targeting different kinds of listeners and new audiences, to create innovative thinking and new perspectives.
