SisBro Quartet - string quartet

SisBro is a part of the festivals effort for local young musicians’ education. The quartet consists of four youths that met in the summer of 2010 in connection with Carlscrona Chamber Music Festivals’ master class. That was when all the participants in Young Talents String Orchestra, directed and led by Peter Jablonski, played and this was also the first time the four members played together as a quartet. Later on they continued their cooperation and in the summer of 2011 the quartet will be touring around in Sweden with a repertoire full of mixture called by themselves; “a musical journey through time and space”. Many of the more classically composed string quartets will be presented but also newer compositions such as the lovely music from Pirates of the Carribean will also be a part of their performances. They will also introduce pieces for string quartet arranged by certain members of the quartet which means that everything from Monti’s “Cszardas” to the musical theme of James Bond can occur. But the quartet is not the only constellation that will be presented. There will also be duets and solo pieces accompanied by the piano and some singing pieces accompanied by piano and strings. Folk music is also a perennial ingredient in their program and will be presented with accordion and strings. The quartet believes that it’s important that all the aspects within music, such as strains of joy and happiness, are considered. Because just like life, music is variably with large amounts of different feelings. All musical pieces have a story of their very own to tell and this is exactly the intention of SisBro. By using different instruments and music from various composers and eras they will present a journey in the pledge of love. The love for life and of course the love for music.
